Company Information Changes
Company Name Change
Complete Company Name or Contact Info Change Form REC-400, to change the registered business name or trade name of a real estate company. The Commission may deny the request if a real estate company with a similar or same name exists in your marketing area. Use Company/School Search to search for open companies.
Company Address and Contact Information Change
Login to MyLicense E-gov as the company or complete Company Name or Contact Info Change Form REC-400 to change the address or contact information for the real estate company. A company address change must be reported to the Commission within five days of the change.
If the company is located in the supervising or branch broker's home and the home address is also changing, use MyLicense E-gov to update the home address.
A registration code is required to create or reset login credentials for your business; email us at krec@ks.gov if you do not have this code.
Supervising or Branch Broker Changes
Login to MyLicense E-gov as your company and select "Affiliation Change" on the menu to change the supervising or branch broker of a real estate company or submit Supervising Broker Change Form REC-450. Additional information may be required depending on company affiliation changes.
A change of supervising or branch broker must be reported to the Commission within five days of the change. Use Company/School Search to find your company record and confirm the change has been processed.
A registration code is required to create or reset login credentials for your business; email us at krec@ks.gov if you do not have this code.
Remove Affiliated Licensees
Login to MyLicense E-gov as your company and select "Remove Affiliated Licensees" on the menu to deactivate one or more licensees. You and the licensee will receive email confirmation when the change is complete. Note: if the deactivation is the result of a termination or violation, also submit Termination/Violation Reporting Form REL-730.
Opening or Closing a Company
Open a Company
Complete Open Company or Branch Office Form REC-430. Include the $100.00 fee and trust account information (if applicable). The request may be denied if a real estate company with a similar or same name already exists in your marketing area. Use Company/School Search to search for existing companies.
Close a Company
Submit Close Company or Branch Office Form REC-440 to the Commission within five days of closure. Attach the report on closing the trust account, if applicable. If the company being closed has branch offices, the branch offices must be closed as well. The Commission will place each license still affiliated with the closed office, at the time of closure, on inactive status unless the license is affiliated with another office.
Trust Account Changes
Complete Trust Account Form REC-500 to report the opening of a new trust account, to report changes to an existing trust account or to report closure of a trust account.
The open company or change supervising broker forms include a place to indicate if a trust account will not be maintained. If a company or broker change is not required, but circumstances necessitate the filing of a request to not maintain a trust account, use form REC-500.
Changes to a trust account must be reported to the Commission within five days of the change.
